Understanding the Options – Editorial & Print
- Designer Joe Gallagher
An industry report that looks at my own employability in the industry today. With a very quick deadline I knew that I wouldn’t have too much time to think about the design of this which in turn was quite freeing.
I adapted and evolved certain designs of my own stationery from the previous year to create a harmonious design and motif that carries through my work. Instead of rehashing the same old industry statistics I decided to take 10 junior designer job adverts I found online and break them down with myself in mind.
What resulted was a very stripped down, but clean and sophisticated design. It includes pull out statistics, tables, and pops of my brand colours.
The typefaces used are the same ones that are used throughout all my stationery, creating a well-rounded and consistent brand – Novela and Strawford by Atipo Foundry. Printed on recycled paper stock by printed.com to give an extra element of texture and nuance, while being eco-friendly – which is one of my ethos.
